From: Tech and Amusing Stuff web site.  I play with all sorts of synth units but this is very cool.  Considering it is just using system WAV files from Windows 95.  First time I played it I though my system was infected with a virus.   The original web site talks about "A guy" who did this.   Good work A. Guy.

This is a music video created by a guy. This video is made up of Windows XP and Read More »

From Lifehacker: I must have about 10 old notebooks that I just can get myself to throw out much to my wifes displeasure.  These is going to be some Os'ing going on tonight. Small implementation of Linuxs to bring my old fiends back to life again..... it's alive!!!

Like a famed race horse or a classic book, you don't just throw away a laptop because it's banged up a little. Even if it seems outdated and underpowered, most any laptop is still small, quiet, and relatively low on power consumption, making it a seriously valuable spare to keep handy—even without a working screen. With some free software, a little know-how and some creative thinking about your h ... Read More »

Well finally a way to take voice notes and not just loose them on the PocketPC.  This Note2Self software which I just installed sends the voice message to my email account as an WAV attachment.  Very cool and even useful.

Note2Self is a simple solution for those of us who keep track of their task items via email. Note2Self allows you to quickly record a voice note and have it sent as an email to your email address of choice with just two button presses: start/stop! No user interface to mess with. No complexities. Just drive/walk/whatever and press the user-configured hotkey to start recording and the hotkey again to stop - instant voice mail!

From: Whatever web site: There’s now a legal ebook version of Old Man’s War, actually produced by our good friends at Tor for free! and no DRM!

Not only that, but in addition to getting my book free as an authorized ebook, you can get other authorized, free ebooks as well — Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn is also on offer, and more very cool books will be announced soon. No more trawling Pirate Bay and reading copies OCR’d by monkeys! These are the real deal, and free.

But — of course — there’s a catch. A really not-at-all-painful catch: If you want the legal, free, ebook version of Read More »

From Tech and Amusing Stuff Site.  OK I own a 2003 Tiburon with a great sound system but no aux input and the CD doesn't play MP3's but it has a cassette players.  The FM transmitters hooked to my MP3 player just plain sucks.  Here is an alternative.  Will post an entry after I get mine.
